About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee French Teacher role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme, offering a practical, supported route into teaching while working towards your PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
You will:

Begin as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting French lessons and engaging pupils in language learning

Progress through our two-phase training model, designed to increase your classroom confidence and subject knowledge

Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University

Earn a salary while training—avoiding tuition debt

Receive ongoing mentorship, coaching, and access to a blended training programme aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Support-focused, assisting in lesson planning, small group interventions, and pupil progress tracking
Phase 2: Deliver up to 18 hours of independent teaching per week while completing PGCE assessments
This route is ideal for French graduates or multilingual professionals ready to begin a fulfilling career in education.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:

Hold a UK bachelor’s degree, ideally in French, Modern Languages, or a related subject

Are passionate about teaching and secondary education

Demonstrate strong communication, resilience, and a growth mindset

Hold (or are working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (some flexibility may be available in Phase 1)
