About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support learning across different year groups, including Early Years and Key Stages 1 and 2. You will also begin your journey with Grad2Teach—an initial teacher training programme that combines salaried classroom experience with academic training.

With Grad2Teach, you will:

  • Begin in a Graduate TA role, supporting teachers, working with small groups, and learning classroom dynamics

  • Progress through a structured two-phase training programme

  • Work towards a PGCE with QTS through our partner, Coventry University

  • Earn a salary while training, with no upfront tuition fees

  • Receive ongoing mentorship and training aligned to the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework

Phase 1: Focus on classroom support and development of foundational skills.
Phase 2: Increase responsibility with independent teaching (up to 18 hours per week) and PGCE coursework.

This is a fully supported route for graduates looking to enter the teaching profession in a practical and financially sustainable way.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking applicants who:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (in any subject)

  • Are committed to a career in primary education

  • Are positive, resilient, and open to learning

  • Ideally hold GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (some flexibility during Phase 1 is possible)

Whether you’re a recent graduate or changing career, this role offers a clear, supported path to becoming a qualified primary teacher.
