About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee PE Teacher placement forms part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme. You’ll begin your journey supporting PE lessons across key stages before transitioning into a full teaching role while earning a salary and studying for your PGCE with QTS.
With Grad2Teach, you will:

Start in a Graduate Teaching Assistant role, supporting PE delivery and extracurricular activities

Progress through our two-phase training model, building confidence and teaching capability

Complete a PGCE with QTS through Coventry University

Earn a salary while training—no need to take on tuition fee debt

Receive regular mentoring, collaborative learning, and a blended training programme aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Support pupils in lessons, work with small groups, and assist in planning and delivery
Phase 2: Take on up to 18 hours of independent teaching per week while completing PGCE assessments

Candidate Requirements
We’re looking for applicants who:

Hold a bachelor’s degree (preferably in PE, Sports Science or a related field)

Demonstrate confidence, energy, and resilience in a school setting

Have (or are working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (some flexibility may apply during Phase 1)
