About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee Primary Teacher placement is the first step in your salaried teaching journey through the Grad2Teach Initial Teacher Training programme. You’ll gain classroom experience while training to become a fully qualified teacher, all while earning a salary.
Through Grad2Teach, you will:

Begin with a Graduate Teaching Assistant role, supporting teachers and small groups of pupils

Progress through our two-phase training programme, designed to grow your skills and confidence

Work towards a PGCE with QTS, delivered in partnership with Coventry University

Receive a salary while training—no tuition debt required

Benefit from consistent mentorship, peer collaboration, and a blended training model aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Support-focused, including observations, small group work, and developing your teaching toolkit.
Phase 2: Begin teaching independently (up to 18 hours/week) while completing PGCE assessments and coursework.
This pathway is perfect for graduates seeking a supported, salaried, and practical route into primary teaching.
Candidate Requirements
To apply, you’ll need to:

Hold a UK bachelor’s degree in any subject

Be passionate about primary education and working with children

Show strong communication skills, resilience, and a desire to learn

Hold (or be working towards) GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science (some flexibility during Phase 1 may apply)
