About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee Science Teacher position is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme, providing a practical, fully supported pathway into teaching.
With Grad2Teach, you will:

Begin as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting Science lessons and pupil learning across Key Stages 3 and 4

Progress through our structured two-phase training model, gaining classroom confidence and subject expertise

Work towards a PGCE with QTS awarded by Coventry University

Earn a salary while training—no tuition fees required

Receive ongoing mentoring, coaching, and access to a blended training programme based on the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Gain classroom exposure through lesson support, small-group interventions, and observation
Phase 2: Deliver up to 18 hours of independent teaching per week while completing academic assignments and assessments
This route is ideal for Science graduates ready to step into a teaching role with real-world experience and expert guidance from day one.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:

Hold a UK bachelor’s degree, ideally in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar)

Are enthusiastic about secondary education and inspiring young minds

Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning

Have (or are working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (some flexibility may apply during Phase 1)
