About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee Science Teacher role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme, combining in-class experience with structured academic development.
With Grad2Teach, you will:

Begin as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting Science lessons and working with pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4

Progress through a two-phase training model, building confidence and subject knowledge

Complete a PGCE with QTS through our partner, Coventry University

Earn a salary while training, with no tuition fees

Receive expert mentorship, peer support, and access to a blended training programme aligned to the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Phase 1: Develop a deep understanding of classroom practice through observations, pupil support, and lesson planning
Phase 2: Take on independent teaching responsibilities (up to 18 hours per week) while completing PGCE assignments and reflections
This route is ideal for science graduates seeking a hands-on, supportive, and financially viable path into teaching.
Candidate Requirements

Hold a UK bachelor’s degree, ideally in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

Have (or are working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (some flexibility available in Phase 1)
