Grad2Teach is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Science Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Hertfordshire, following a structured route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

About Grad2Teach

Grad2Teach offers a school-based, salaried route into teaching. From day one, you’ll be part of a real classroom environment, developing your teaching practice with the support of experienced mentors. Through a structured training programme, you’ll work towards achieving QTS and a PGCE, setting you up for a successful and fulfilling teaching career.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Teaching Science (Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics) to students at KS3 and KS4

  • Planning and delivering engaging, practical lessons that develop scientific knowledge and thinking.

  • Building positive relationships with students and helping them grow in confidence and curiosity.

  • Collaborating with experienced teachers and school leaders as part of your training.

  • Making an active contribution to school life and the science department.


Requirements:

To be eligible for this role and the Grad2Teach programme, you must have:

  • A UK undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline).

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in both English and Mathematics.

  • A strong interest in education and a desire to help young people succeed.

  • Good communication skills and enthusiasm for science.

  • A commitment to becoming a qualified teacher and developing your practice.
