About the Role

About the Role:
As a Trainee Art and Design Teacher with Grad2Teach, you will embark on a two-year journey towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while receiving valuable classroom experience. You will be immersed in the creative process of teaching art, helping students express themselves through various mediums and develop their artistic skills.

You will:

  • Work closely with experienced art teachers, learning how to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire creativity.
  • Support students from KS3 to KS5, encouraging their artistic development and exploring a range of techniques, from drawing and painting to sculpture and digital media.
  • Participate in a comprehensive training programme that leads to QTS and potentially a permanent teaching role in your placement school.
  • Receive mentoring and personalised coaching throughout your training, helping you to become a confident and effective teacher.

What we offer:

  • A salary while you train to teach.
  • Full support in gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) through an accredited provider.
  • Access to regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions and training opportunities.
  • A school placement that matches your specialism and interests in Art and Design.
  • Continuous support and guidance from experienced mentors and the Grad2Teach team to help you succeed.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Art and Design or a related field.
  • A strong passion for teaching and helping young people explore their creativity.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to learning and developing within a school setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and a desire to complete a two-year teacher training programme.
